Hiking Routes

In the surroundings of Blankenburg, the most beautiful hiking trails in the region are waiting to be discovered by you. Mysterious trails lead you through old trees and fragrant pine forests which alternate with rocky trails, cultural highlights and wonderful views.

The attractive location that is between Mount Brocken and the Bode Gorge are surrounded by numerous hiking stamps from the Harzer Wandernadel, which make Blankenburg the ideal "base camp" for your hiking holiday. Many hiking stamps can be found within a short distance of Blankenburg.

Long distance hiking trails such as the Harz Monastery Hiking Trail (Harzer Klosterwanderweg), the E11 hiking trail, the German Emperors and Kings Trail (Deutscher Kaiser & Könige) and the Devil’s Wall (Teufelsmauer Stieg) lead directly through the city.

With the Harz Holiday Ticket you can use the public buses free of charge and "shorten" your hike.
