The glass manufacturer Harzkristall Derenburg is one of the few glassworks still in production in Germany. During a 30-minute guided tour through the glassworks, visitors will learn everything about the interesting history of glass and the art of glassmaking. You will see fine examples from the past and present of these amazing crystal products. At the end of each tour you can experience the smouldering heat of the furnace and watch the glassmakers practice their traditional craft. On Sundays and upon request there is the opportunity to try yourself the art of glassmaking and to form your own lucky ball directly at the furnace with the help of a glass maker - guaranteed an unforgettable experience.
In the shop of the glass factory, which extends over 2 floors and over 2000m² you will find glassware in all conceivable shapes and colours. You can watch our engravers and glassblowers up close doing their fine filigree work in the integrated show workshop in the shop. It is also possible to have an individual glass gift engraved or to design and inflate a decorative ball as a souvenir for the home. Also worth mentioning is the Christmas Land, where you will find great products made from glass, ceramic, wood and metal products all year round.
