Eight varied cycling routes in the immediate and wider surroundings of Blankenburg (Harz) are waiting to be discovered by you. They lead on different route lengths and heights to promising mountains, across endless expanses through the Harz foothills, past pretty villages, along picturesque rivers and centuries-old half-timbered towns.
Whether you want to go on a mountain bike, an e-bike, alone or with your family: here in Blankenburg there is definitely the right tour for you.
We want to be honest: in the surroundings of Blankenburg you can expect not only comfortable, asphalted or concrete bike paths. The paths are mostly natural, sometimes with a slightly coarser surface and you will encounter one or two potholes. In some places, special concentration on the path is required. But we promise you from our own cycling experience: everything is passable.

Dear cyclists,
The Foundation for Environment, Nature and Climate Protection of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (SUNK) will repair important forest roads / escape routes in the area of the Blankenburg natural heritage forest. There will be barriers and restrictions during the construction period. Construction begins on Monday 15th June and will last about 3 months. Forest visitors are asked to respect the barriers in their own interest. SUNK regrets the inconvenience and thanks you in advance for your understanding.

A passage is not possible here: „Southwest mountain tour” - between km 7.0 - 10.3.
Redirection recommendation:
From the intersection at km 4.5, drive down to the B27, cross it and diagonally opposite you will find a circular trail no.2 (white 2 on a green petal, follow the meadow path through the old mining area, cross the rails of the Rübeland Railway and take the ascent towards Hüttenrode. Below the sports field you will find the original route of the App.
A passage is not possible here: „Western mountain tour” between km 4.5 - 6.9.
Redirection recommendation:
From the intersection at km 4.5, drive down to the B27, cross it and diagonally opposite you will find a circular trail no.2 (white 2 on a green petal), follow the meadow path through the old mining area, cross the rails of the Rübeland Railway and take the ascent towards Hüttenrode. Below the sports field you will find the trail of the App route Südwestliche Bergtour. Follow this in the opposite direction from the sports field to Hüttenrode and on via Neue Friedensstrasse, Alte Bahnhofstrasse and then to the original route on Elbingeröder Weg.
